Lt. Col. Umar Sanda Ahmed is a distinguished military officer, diplomat, and security expert with extensive experience in religious leadership, governance, and international relations. He is currently serving as a member of the 2025 Ghana Hajj Taskforce with additional responsibility as the Director of Operations overseeing the coordination and execution of Hajj-related activities.
With over two decades of service as the Chief Imam of the Ghana Armed Forces, Lt. Col. Ahmed played a crucial role in fostering religious harmony within the military. His career extended into diplomacy when he was appointed as Ghana’s Ambassador to Egypt, with concurrent accreditation to Lebanon, Sudan, and Cyprus. He served in this capacity until his recall in 2017 following the general elections.
Beyond his military and diplomatic service, Lt. Col. Ahmed is the Executive Director of the Africa Security and Diplomacy Center, a think tank dedicated to addressing the intersection of security, governance, and diplomacy in Africa. He is also an active member of the NDC Ambassadors Forum, contributing to discussions on international relations and national development.

He also oversees Proton Energy Limited, a key player in the energy sector, Savannah Housing Development Limited, which focuses on real estate and housing solutions, and FUO Community Hospital and Nursing Training Institute, dedicated to healthcare delivery and professional training.
As the President of the Association of Bullion Van Operators Ghana, he plays a pivotal role in enhancing security standards and operational efficiency in cash-in-transit services.

Alhaji Mamah Mohammed, popularly known as Cole Younger, is a dedicated public servant and influential figure within Ghana’s Muslim and political communities. He is a distinguished member of the 2025 Ghana Hajj Taskforce, playing a vital role in the planning and coordination of Hajj operations for Ghanaian pilgrims.
As the coordinator of the National Zongo Caucus of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Alhaji Mamah Mohammed actively advocates for the development and empowerment of Zongo communities, contributing to grassroots mobilization and policy discussions within the party and victory in the 2024 elections.
Beyond his political and religious engagements, he is also a member of the Ghana Road Contractors Association, demonstrating his expertise and commitment to infrastructure development in the country.
