The I.T. Unit of the Ghana Hajj Board plays a pivotal role in transforming Hajj operations through digital innovation, automation, and secure data management. As technology continues to shape the future of pilgrimage services, the I.T. Unit ensures that the Ghana Hajj Board remains at the forefront of efficient, transparent, and accessible Hajj management.
Core Responsibilities:
- Pilgrim Data Management: Development and maintenance of a secure digital database for all registered pilgrims, including biometric data, medical records, and travel documentation.
- Hajj Management Information System (Hajj MIS): Designing and managing a robust system that integrates registration, payment tracking, agent verification, accommodation logistics, flight schedules, and transportation coordination.
- Online Registration & Agent Portal: Implementation of an online platform for pilgrims to register, make payments, receive notifications, and track their application status. Registered agents also use this portal to manage their pilgrims.
- Pilgrim Tracking System: Real-time tracking of pilgrims throughout their journey—from Ghana to the Holy Land and back—ensuring safety, timely support, and efficient coordination with field teams in Makkah and Madinah.
- Technical Support: Providing technical assistance to pilgrims, agents, and internal staff to ensure smooth operation of all I.T. systems before, during, and after Hajj.
- Cybersecurity & Data Protection: Ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and security of all digital information in accordance with national and international data protection regulations.
- Innovation & Development: Continuously exploring and deploying emerging technologies (AI, mobile apps, SMS systems, etc.) to improve pilgrim engagement, service delivery, and internal communication.
